Rush strategy

The Prepare section has no mention to upgrading guardsman tiers. The fact is that with lower tiers, every player learns fast enough how to upgrade them. The closer getting to tier V, the more worried. So difficult upgrading a single level, so much time to finalize the upgrade, so many VPs required.

Goals

This section goal is to guide you into the best options to meet the current milestone. Notice that you could continue the Prepare strategy for as long as you want, minimizing the rushing costs.

The section is based on my experience for buildings 25 and guardsman V. I'll try to provide examples for lower levels and tiers. The result of this strategy should lead you to:

• At least one of each type of building at level 25.

• Guardsman tier V, including Archer V, Spearman V, Raider V and Griffins V.

Important! For guardsman tier VI you will need the Hero at level 100.

Buildings

Before rushing, you need your city prepared as explained in the Prepare section. In the example of buildings 25, that would be:

• At least one of each type of building at level 24, except Capitol at level 20.

The build package

Unfortunately, the game is tricky at this point. The packages it offers may depend on your spend ratio and amount. You need to buy the Build the best City package. That may be 249.99 or 99.99 cost. The best option is the expensive one, and as I said, the game may offer first the 99.99 package and after that, only the 249.99 package for several days. I would suggest buying first a small package or pass to improve the selling offers. The game shop is a complete mystery.

Once you have the correct package, start upgrading your buildings. Start with the Capitol, till level 25. Then the rest as the game forces you. Do not use the speed ups until your clan mates have helped you, by fulfilling the help slots. Speed ups are scarce, and being in an active clan helps a lot.

The result of this rushing process should be all buildings at level 25.

Troops and monsters

Following the same example, we'll go for guardsman tier V. If you have followed the Prepare section, your technologies are at the last upgrade to get into guardsman tier V.

The mercenaries package

As it happens with buildings, the shop needs to recognize you as a spender. Otherwise, will offer you the wrong package. You need the Arachne's Tournament package of 249.99. The goal is to obtain the necessary VPs to upgrade Archer V, Spearman V, Raider V and Griffins V. The total amount of VPs may vary, depending on how upgraded is the tree that ends in these technologies. In my experience, we let some upgrades to 8/10, as required by the game. This tier V will require them at 10/10. I needed 9B VPs to do all the upgrades, and I got them with a single package.

Prerequisites

• Personal bonuses for VP and XP gain, and Army Strength and Health.

• If you have Premium, the better.

Arachne

Arachne has some benefits over other tournaments. The more important is that you can attack with three captains, and their bonus sum up.

Getting VPs

• Activate the personal bonus on XP, VP, Strength and Health.

• If Premium, activate Great Marshall.

• Take the stronger captains.

You're now prepared for the attacks.

• Go to Arachne and select attack.

• Select the three captains and the mercenaries of the package. Probably you will not be able to select them all, combine them using their quantities as the proportion.

• I did also select the dragon. This is a personal choice, the dragon does not fight but improves the army.

• Do not select any troops, they are weak and will only suppose a greater cost of revival. You got 1M gold with the package, that will be enough for the mercenaries. You'll probably spend half.

• Attack Arachne.

After each attack, look at the attack report. It's important that you get the most VPs. The quantity may vary depending on who attacks first. This is controlled by the game, so you have nothing to do with it. The firsts attacks will show you the tendency. For a while, because you were not able to use all the mercenaries, the attacks will maintain the VPs average per attack. Slowly, this will decrease, until the attacks have no real gain. By then you should have the 8/9B VPs you need.

Always check tournaments prizes after each attack. Some events give mercenaries and revival potions. If they are the same tier as the ones in the package, add them to the attack.
