Clash for the Throne is a special tournament where players fight to get Conquer Points (CP). The main goal is to get as much CP as possible, giving in exchange nothing. This guide will help you create a strategy for doing so.
COT may be under some might rule (ex. do not attack players less than half your might)
Might rules are misleading. Any player can buy mercenaries and attack your city with plenty of guaranties, so do you.
If you use the NVC, you'll get the most from COT, no matter your might.
If under attack, you still can use your troops. Send them to do some task and the attacker will only destroy the walls.
COT is lighter than the Clash of Kingdoms. Better prepare yourself on how this game works.
If a powerful player attacks you, try to get knowledge from him. You'll be surprised how veteran players like to share.
Sending troops to clan Forts is not a final protection strategy. The game allows attacking Forts, and your troops will return to the city after the attack.
Firstly, you need to select those troops you will use for attacking during COT. These troops will die each attack, thus, ensure you have ENOUGH GOLD as well. The steps are:
DO NOT OPEN the chests in Items -> Resources, as a REGULAR PRACTICE. Use them as you need by clicking the plus symbol when the game requires the resource. This is important because these chests can’t be stolen.
Go to clan’s Fort and select Army. There select Reinforcements.
Select the troops you WON’T USE for COT. Notice that you will also need a captain or the hero to move these troops.
Place them in Fort Reinforcements, where they will be safely waiting until COT ends. Notice that this is not really true, as explained in Objective.
Send the resources you can’t keep in the Warehouse (check its capacity) to the corresponding Clan Buildings.
Now you have in your city ONLY the troops you want to use for COT.
You get more CP when attacking than when defending.
The attacker goes by the same rules.
When the attacker finds no defense, he only steals resources. No CP at all.
The resources the attacker can steal are: Wood, Iron, Stone, Food and Silver.
We’ll be using the concept of Nerd Void City (NVC). A NVC is a city ready to attack, but where attackers will find no defense, neither resources. They will get zero, a big zero.
The NVC concept will be more clear in the strategy part. Don’t be impatient.
First thing is creating the NVC. The COT should be already on. Act immediately.
If you have the Shield of Peace down, select a big target and attack (see second point in Preparing COT)
The whole army will die. DO NOT REVIVE THEM!
You have an NVC now. You can receive attacks now. No problem.
Wait until these three tournaments coincide:
Clash for the Throne.
Shadow Invasion.
Thirsty for Battle.
Select the Shadow Invasion Tournament.
If the Shield of Peace is on, shut it down. If you don’t know how to do it, go to step one. The attack will bring down the shield. This step is important because if the shield is on, you don’t receive COT points.
Revive your troops and attack Shadow City.
DO NOT REVIVE your troops until you’re ready to attack again.
You have an NVC again, don’t need to rush.
Repeat step 7 until you get short of gold.
You can also attack other players. Always ensure that in the waiting time you have an NVC.
Select a target city.
Revive your troops and attack.
The remaining troops will be back to the city. Some may be alive. If that’s the case, you don’t have an NVC anymore. You can now go to point 1 or Best value option point 7, and get back to NVC status.
If a player attacks your city when you’re not in NVC status, you can:
Attack Shadow City, back to NVC.
Attack a big target, back to NVC.
Hit back the player who’s attacking you and check Attacking other player’s city point 3.
In all cases, if you don’t have an NVC, don’t wait for the attacker to arrive and go get the NVC status as soon as possible.
Some players may associate the state of your walls with an army ready to defend. A variation of the Nerd Void City (NVC) is to reconstruct ONLY your walls. Remember following the steps in Preparing COT, so you have the resources.
